Just in case you missed it! What a championship game! What a frenzied finish! A Stanley Cup Final that already had been thick with drama reached an appropriate climax Monday night.
The Chicago Blackhawks scored two goals in the last 90 seconds of regulation to beat the Boston Bruins 3-2 in Game 6 and win their second championship in four years. Patrick Kane, who led Chicago with 19 points during the postseason, won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the playoffs’ most valuable player. This is the fifth time in franchise history that the Blackhawks have been victorious as the national champions! Our banners are hung inside and outside of our bank. The team members of First National Bank of South Miami are thrilled to congratulate the Chicago Blackhawks team on their hard-fought and well deserved victory, and for bringing the Stanley Cup back home to Chicago. This is yet another incredible Miami-Chicago connection that our chairman Bruce Wirtz MacArthur comments on regularly. Right now both of our cities are National Champions – the Miami Heat and the Chicago Blackhawks!
