Vocational Rehabilitation Program at Goodwill “Achiever of the Year” Award

First National Bank of South Miami (FNBSM) is pleased to announce a special award bestowed upon one of our staff members by Goodwill Industries of South Florida at their recent Annual Business Meeting.

Oscar Trejo who works in facilities maintenance was placed for employment with us through the Vocational Rehabilitation Program at Goodwill. Last week he was recognized with the “Achiever of the Year” Award for his outstanding job performance and attitude towards his job.

“We recognize that every person in our community deserves an opportunity to work towards their full potential,” said Veronica Birch Flores, Executive Vice President for FNBSM. “We are thrilled with the caliber of candidates that Goodwill has presented to us over the years. Oscar is just one more example; he takes great pride in the work that he does at FNBSM. He can be seen performing a variety of duties to keep our facility looking good.”

Joyce Rivers, VP of Human Resources and Mercedes Cruz, Marketing Manager were both in attendance at the annual meeting in support of Oscar and his great achievement. Please join us in congratulation Oscar for this special recognition.

Goodwill Industries is a non-profit organization dedicated to training, employing and placing people with a variety of disabilities and special needs in community jobs in order to transition to independence. “We thank Joyce Rivers for introducing us to Goodwill Industries a dozen years ago! We have had many successful employment experiences with them.” Flores added.
