| The Wirtz Gallery at the First National Bank of South Miami is a public art gallery featuring month-long exhibits by local, national, and international artists.
The Wirtz Gallery was opened in 1983 in memoriam to Arthur M. Wirtz, past Chairman of the Board of the First National Bank of South Miami. The mission of the Wirtz Gallery is to provide a professional setting for all levels of artists to display and sell their artwork, with no fee due to the gallery. It provides the public with the opportunity to enjoy art of all types of media. The artist is invited to host an Opening Night Reception generally held on the first Friday of the month from 6-9 p.m. The general public and customers of the Bank are always invited to meet the artists during opening night receptions. The Wirtz Galley is open Monday - Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free! We encourage art students to visit the Wirtz Gallery regularly so that they can be exposed to a wide variety of techniques and talents. |

| Information for Artists top | ||||||||||||||||
The Wirtz Gallery has a waiting list for artists wishing to exhibit. All requests are filled in the order they are received. However, exhibit dates are based on the type and style of art to ensure that the exhibits are unique in subject matter and media from one month to another. We have featured a wide variety of exhibitions including paintings, sculptures, jewelry, decoupage, and photographs. Artists should submit their requests to exhibit in writing, accompanied by a biography of the artist, a description of the media and style, and 3-4 photographs (no slides) of the actual artwork. The images in the photos must be clear with clean definition in the background. All material sent is non-returnable and will be kept in the Gallery files. |
