SAVE A TRIP TO THE BANK WITH OUR MOBILE DEPOSIT FEATURE


We make it easy when it comes to banking. With our mobile deposit solution on our advance app our clients are able to make deposits at their convenience from any location.¹ Simply follow the steps below to make a mobile deposit: 





STEP ONE: LOG INTO THE FNBSM APP

If you have entered your online banking credentials into the app simply continue logging in by either touch verification or the 4-digit pin that you selected. If you're new to the app and have not applied for online banking with FNBSM please contact the bank for further instructions.





STEP TWO: SELECT DEPOSIT CHECK FROM THE MENU

Click on the three lines located at the top left of the main dashboard. This will open up your main menu section where you can select "Deposit Check" 





STEP THREE: CLICK ON "DEPOSIT A CHECK

The next step will take you into the process of depositing a check. Simply click on the Deposit a Check button located at the top to access the mobile deposit steps.





STEP FOUR: ENTER THE DOLLAR AMOUNT OF THE CHECK

Simply type in the exact amount as found on the check. It is preferred that you enter the written numerical amount found on the check as opposed to the numeric one as this is considered the legal dollar value. 




STEP FIVE: SELECT DEPOSIT ACCOUNT

Select which account you would like to make the deposit to. If you do not see your account here make sure to go back to the main check deposit menu and choose to add an account.





STEP SIX: FRONT OF CHECK PICTURE

The next step is to take a picture of the front of your check. Make sure that you take it on a plain flat surface and make sure there is sufficient and bright lighting. If the check does not come out clear and legible the deposit will be rejected.






STEP SEVEN: BACK OF CHECK PICTURE

Taking a picture of the back of the check should be done like the front of the check. Please clearly write on the back of the check "Mobile Deposit Only at FNBSM". If you do not endorse the back of the check with this statement the system may reject the deposit. Even if the deposit fails the first time you can try writing the statement again on another line in the endorsement area above the check. 




STEP EIGHT: REVIEW & SUBMIT DEPOSIT

The final steps is to review your deposit carefully to make sure that you entered the correct check amount, selected the account that you want the deposit to be made into, and confirm that the front and back images of the check are clear and focused. Once everything has been verified, simply click "Submit" and you're done!

You can make daily deposits up to $1,000 and monthly $3,000.
You can deposit a variety of checks including:
  • Personal checks
  • Business checks
  • Cashiers checks
  • Money orders & more
Once the deposit has been submitted and verified for processing your deposits will be available in two business days.
The two most common reasons that checks are rejected is if the check amount is not matching the check and/or the images of the checks are not clear. Please make sure that when taking a picture of the checks that you maintain focus.
You have until 7pm for checks to be considered same day deposits.
